Peak Performance Solutions is seeking an experienced software Programmer/Analyst in their Orient, Ohio headquarters.  The programmer/analyst will develop, implement, and deploy software solutions for our customers in the insurance industry.  The candidate will be responsible for making design and architectural decisions as well as supporting existing software applications.

The candidate should have the ability to quickly understand functional requirements and the ability to translate them into sound technical design.  This position requires a strong background in developing enterprise applications, project management, and customer support.  The candidate should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop software for PPSI suite of services and applications
• Debug software errors, trouble-shoot system issues, and provide general technical support for customers.
• Work closely with the customers to analyze and understand customers' business needs so that PPSI software will enhance their business systems and processes.
• Test new software applications.
• Address software integration issues, such as database conversions, platform compatibility, etc.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the software development and support process.
• Manage software projects including cost estimates and timelines
• Identify and document process flows, events and key inputs as necessary for analyzing the nature of the problem or opportunity areas.
• Developing conceptual and detailed designs, coding the design, and testing/debugging for client server systems using standard methodologies.
• Performing DBA tasks needed in a Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle environment including data modelling, performance tuning and enhancements, and maintaining and supporting existing applications.

Required experience includes:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience as a programmer/analyst and experience with the full development life cycle
• Minimum 2 years experience as technical lead or project manager
• Strong technical experience in VB6, J2EE, PowerBuilder, SQL Server, Oracle, Oracle Forms, IBM Universe, and XML
• Strong understanding of the business applications, solid problem solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with users. 
• Strong organizational skills, possessing the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize effectively and work independently within guidelines.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
